SENIOR FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOODS
As a result of a $1 million Federal grant that CHAI received in May 2002, the Senior Friendly Neighborhoods program was created to allow enhanced programs and services for older adults living in the Upper Park Heights and Milbrook neighborhoods. With the use of transportation, social work services, activities in apartments and homes, these neighborhoods will be an attractive place for seniors and the rest of our community for many years to come.
Senior Friendly Neighborhoods is a joint program of The Associated: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore, CHAI, the Jewish Community Center, Jewish Community Services, LifeBridge Health Systems and the Edward A. Myerberg Senior Center. Programs that take place in apartment buildings and community centers include lectures, discussion groups, social activities and movies. Professionals from Jewish Community Services are available to provide counseling and case management services.
